Log Living…

This may seem really cheesy, but I’ve always wanted to stay in a log cabin. Not so much to live in, but to visit for maybe a week or so. I’ve seen a few on television and they’re really awesome. They seem cozy and interesting. I always imagine sitting by some huge fire and reading books or listening to soft music. Maybe I’m getting old or something because that whole thing really appeals to me.

I remember watching one of these design shows on TV and they were showing all of these cool custom houses. One person had a log home that they had built from scratch. It was awesome. I used to think there was no way to live in a house made of logs until I saw how it’s really done. I can’t remember whether or not they had log beds or furniture made out of logs, but the house alone was pretty spiffy.

Lil Miss Ideas: Create A Candy Gift Box!

Candy Box I was surfing Amazon and I came across one of the cutest ideas for a gift basket. The product on Amazon is called the “90s Decade Box Gift Basket – Classic 90′s Candy” and as you can tell from the picture, it’s basically a decorated box filled with a lot of different types of candy made popular in the 90s. They also have a candy gift box for other decades as well. The idea is really great, but it’s poorly executed. The gift box itself is rather expensive (about $45 shipped) and judging by the reviews it doesn’t include many of the candies mentioned.

If you’d like to duplicate this idea in a cuter and less expensive way I would suggest purchasing a plain box (the size of a shoe box) and decorating it with fun nostalgic pictures from the decade of your choice and purchasing mixed bags of candy from a discount store. You can usually get variety bags of chocolate and other types of candy for just a few dollars. Try filling the box with candy such as M&Ms, Laffy Taffy, Smarties, Mike & Ike, Jawbreakers, Jujubes Candy, Swedish Fish, Jolly Rancher, Goobers and Tootsie Rolls, to name a few! If you want candies from a specific decade you might have to do a bit of research! :)

Sliding Pictures!

I’ve been messing around with some of the features on my computer and decided to add some fun stuff to my desktop. So far I only have a few gadgets, but I intend to add some more soon. I’m not really big on pointless gadgets because I don’t want unnecessary things to slow my computer down, but I do like have things like the calendar and weather. The weather gadget is especially helpful. I’m thinking about adding a gadget to take down notes and maybe a news feed or two. Another gadget I really like is the picture slideshow. That rocks!

I’ve been considering adding a picture slideshow for when my computer is in sleep mode. It’s nice when a picture of someone I love randomly pops up. I think I’ll take time this weekend and add a few pictures to a separate folder so they can rotate. I spend so much time on my computer every day and it’s nice to have gadgets and features that make it more enjoyable!

Let’s Go To The Theater!

I haven’t been out for a night on the town in a long time. I would really love to go see a concert or show. There are so many great events taking place during the summer months that I wouldn’t even know where to start looking. Sometimes I browse the ticket website to see what kind of events they have going on. I almost always come across things I never even knew about. You’d be amazed at how many concert and theater events take place every day. Things you may have never heard of.

Today when I was checking out what kind of theater tickets are available I came across tickets for The Lion King, Fela, The Color Purple and Dream Girls. Those are all shows I really want to see. The Lion King and The Color Purple are two of my favorite movies, so it would be awesome to see them live. I also like Dream Girls a lot. I haven’t seen Fela yet, but I’ve heard a lot about it, so I’m kind of interested to see what all the fuss is about. I definitely need some theater tickets to one of those shows before this year is out!
