The Dilemma

Guest post from: Joe Castro

Now that I’ve signed up for Direct tv I have a dilemma. It’s a good one though! Every Sunday, should I watch Boardwalk Empire or Dexter?! I’m obsessed with both shows. Both are so great. I love the costumes, the lighting and the writing in Boardwalk Empire. The acting is completely amazing. Dexter is just so entertaining. And I love the opening of Dexter. I am always struck by how clever it is. It’s funny that Dexter and his sister were married in real life. I wonder how that’s working out now. Yikes! I think the first season of Dexter is my favorite, but the season with John Lithgow was pretty amazing too. Thank heaven for being able to record the shows. Boardwalk Empire Sunday and Dexter Monday! Problem solved!

An MP3 Player She Will Like

My mother has been on my back about getting her a new MP3 player but I still haven’t found the right one for her. My mother is a very smart woman but she isn’t very tech-savvy. Don’t get me wrong, she learns fast, but she has a problem with confidence sometimes. She’s often afraid to mess with certain electronics because she doesn’t want to mess things up or break anything.

I would love to just get her an 8gb iPod nano and show her how to use it. She needs an MP3 about that size because the small one she has is already full. I think that only holds about 2GB. And of course iPods are very popular and easy to use. I don’t think she’ll have any problems with the iPod nano.

Just a Fan

I love music! I’m one of the biggest music buffs ever. I don’t think I could live without music. Music is one of those things that have the power to change how you feel about everything. It can influence your mood and can also bring people together. It’s awesome! Unfortunately, as much as I love music, I’m only qualified to be a fan. I would love to sing and play instruments but that’s just not happening.

I suppose I could take piano or guitar lessons online or at a school, but singing is definitely out of the question. That’s just one thing I can’t do. You can learn to play the guitar or piano (my two favorite instruments), but you can’t learn to sing if you have no talent in that area. Well, judging by some of the singers I’ve heard lately, I guess you don’t really need talent to be a singer these days. All you need is a “look” and good promotion. :P

Cute Scrubs

I used to think working in a hospital would be so awesome until my aunt started telling us about how hectic her job is. I can’t remember what her exact position is, but I know she’s not a doctor or nurse. She mostly takes blood, does lab work and things of that nature. She says it’s a very stressful job at times, but she loves it and she’s good at it. Besides, I think she looks really cute in her scrubs. She wears scrubs with all kinds of little characters and designs on them. I never knew that scrubs could be so stylish and attractive.

When I was little, everyone I knew that worked in nursing used to just wear boring blue, green or white scrubs. There was no variety at all! Judging by my aunt’s scrubs and the discount scrubs I see online, things have changed a lot. You can now get scrubs in so many styles. It’s crazy! And they all look great. That’s a plus because even if you work in a hospital you still want to be fashionable.
