Gotta Have Acai?

My aunt is one of the many people in this world who are obsessed with the acai berry. She’s always going on about how great it is and how many health benefits it has. To her, the acai berry can do no wrong. She’ll buy almost anything that has acai in it. I’m telling you, she’s obsessed. I have been hearing and reading a lot about acai lately, but I’m not sure what to believe.

I had the opportunity to taste it in something that she let us try, but I’m not sure if I would go out of my way to buy it. I need to read more about it for myself to see if it is something I want to add to my regimen. With the number of acai reviews that I come across on the net it shouldn’t be too hard to find out some useful information about it.

Stop Eating Here!

I really hate when some members of my family come over for dinner. These folks are something. I’m not exactly sure what to call them, but I know it’s nothing nice. I think selfish would be a good word to describe them. They come over for dinner, don’t cook or help clean up, stay until really late, and then ask to take a plate home with them. Who does that?! So rude.

Another thing they have been doing lately that bugs me is stealing kitchen utensils. I know that sounds crazy, but it’s true. I mean they don’t blatantly steal them, but they take them. Usually when they come over for a meal to go they will take one of the kitchen utensils with them to eat in the car. We’re missing a few spoons, a couple of knives, some plates and countless forks. Smh. Horrible manners!

Lil Miss Freebies: Lamb Recipe Book

I came across this freebie that I wanted to tell you guys about. It’s a free recipe book called “Easy. Any Day: Australian Lamb For All Seasons.” It’s by Award-winning author and celebrity chef, Sally James, who shares her best Australian Lamb recipes. The book features 18 seasonally inspired lamb recipes that are simple enough to prepare on weekdays, but elegant enough to impress weekend guests. There are also full meal suggestions, including recipes for side dishes and sauces, dozens of preparation and handling tips and inspirational ideas to spark your own creativity.

I’m planning to order this recipe book for my Grandmother. I think she will love this book because lamb is one of her favorite foods, for some odd reason and she’s constantly trying new recipes. If you’d like to, you can also get the free book for yourself by visiting the site below!

Don’t Say Cheese…

I can’t remember the last time I’ve chosen to drink a glass of milk ‘just because’. Actually, I can’t even remember the last time I had milk at all. That’s because I’m lactose intolerant. I believe I’m the only person in my family who is lactose intolerant. When I was younger, I would tell my cousins to say “tofu” when posing for a picture instead of “cheese” since I couldn’t eat cheese, but now that I’m older and I realize how important dairy products are it’s not so funny.

I think I’m missing out on a lot of calcium by not drinking milk. I still eat yogurt a lot because it doesn’t bother me as much, but I miss being able to eat dairy and drink milk without getting really sick. I’ve also been taking a calcium supplement with my vitamins to make up for what I’m missing. My problem is that with calcium supplements you have to take two daily and I always forget to take the second one. I have to be more mindful of that.
