Rough Housing

My little cousins have been coming to my house everyday for almost two weeks, and boy are they rough. I’ve never seen such active kids. I’m a firm believer in letting kids be kids, so I allow them to play and be active instead of just forcing them to sit still all day, but my house does suffer because of that. If they’re not messing up the pillows on the couch and scuffing up the living room floor with their sneaker, they’re wasting juice on the kitchen table and floor. Grrr. It’s definitely a bit much sometimes. Having them over everyday will have you wishing you had garage flooring inside your home. Since garage floors can handle the wear and tear caused by cars and trucks, those are the only floors they probably wouldn’t damage. Maybe.

Belated Spring Cleaning

Now that it’s spring, I think it’s about time that I started doing some spring cleaning. I know generally the idea is to do spring cleaning before spring actually comes, but I definitely wasn’t prepared for how fast the weather changed. One day it was 45 degrees and the next day it was 70 degrees. Literally. It’s hard adapting to such drastic changes in the weather. Everything just gets so thrown off.

At any rate, I’m looking forward to doing some cleaning. I need to throw out a lot of stuff. The only bad thing about cleaning is that I don’t have enough of storage space for the things that I decide to keep. Oh what I would give for some metal storage cabinets right about now. I need a few of them actually. They would be so helpful.

Personal Storage House

I’m in dire need of some extra space in my room. In my whole house, actually. I’ve definitely outgrown this space. I need a house of my own. I don’t think that’s going to happen anytime soon, so I have to figure out ways to make the best of the space that I do have. That’s the hard part. I’ve tried coming up with better storage solutions but that’s even hard when you have no place to store the storage solutions. LOL.

I think I need to think outside the box. Maybe I need one of those tiger metal storage buildings to keep some of my stuff in. I know that’s probably not what they’re intended for, but who knows, I think I can make that work for me. They seem very roomy and they’re definitely cheaper than buying a new house. I just need a little more land to store that on. :P

My Dream House

I’m a stickler for unique things. I would rather stand out than fit in any day. That’s probably why I have such an eclectic taste in music, art, clothing, etc. I’m not really into buying things because they are trendy. I just buy whatever I like no matter what. Even if it doesn’t match. That’s why I’m the type of person who would have metal, wood and log cabin furniture in the same bedroom. If something about it seems cohesive to me, that’s good enough.

I’m also not afraid to experiment with colors. If I had my way, I would probably live in a house painted in neon colors. And I’m talking about the outside of the house as well. I can just picture it! Besides metal, wood and log cabin furniture, I also want a house filled with interesting chairs and seating arraignments. Foam ottomans and bean bag chairs anyone?!! The stranger the better!
