The Last King of Scotland

Lil Miss Info: I’ve been a fan of Forest Whitaker ever since his great performance as “Maddog” in one my favorite movies of all time, “Jason’s Lyric“. He’s really an exceptional actor. If you want to know just how great he is, I suggest you rent or buy “The Last King of Scotland“. This is the movie that earned Forest an Oscar for best actor at the 2007 Academy Awards. This movie was released on DVD April 17, 2007.

This movie is based on the events of the brutal Ugandan dictator Idi Amin’s regime as seen by his personal physician during the 1970s.

Plot Synopsis: In the early 1970s, Nicholas Garrigan, a young semi-idealistic Scottish doctor, comes to Uganda to assist in a rural hospital. Once there, he soon meets up with the new President, Idi Amin, who promise a golden age for the African nation. Garrigan hits it off immediately with the rabid Scotland fan, who soon offers him a senior position in the national health department and becomes one of Amin’s closest advisers. Read more »

Summer Shape Up – Tip 3

This third tip is also to help tone and trim your abs and belly. However, you wont need a ball for this exercise. A simple mat will do.

You begin by getting on your knees on the mat. While you’re on your forearms and knees, you fold your hands  together to form a V shape with your forearms. You should then straighten your legs to balance your body on your forearms and on the front part of your feet.  Finally, tighten your butt and abs while maintaining a straight line from the top of your shoulders to the bottom of your heels. Start by holding your position for 5 seconds and eventually working up to 15.

Summer Shape Up – Tip 2

This second tip is also to help tone and trim your abs and belly. And once again you’ll be working with the exercise ball. It may seem like the same motion, but there is a slight difference. Instead of just the belly crunch, you’ll also be adding a twist. This extra motion can help burn more fat.

You start by getting an exercise ball. You then lie face-up on the exercise ball, making sure your lower back is supported by the ball, and your head and shoulders are off the ball. You then place a thick towel between your inner thighs, and plant your feet firmly on the floor.

You begin by squeezing the towel with your legs, and slowly lifting your head and shoulders forward to the left, remember to pause at the top and hold the position for 2 seconds before shifting your body to the right and lowering yourself slowly. You then repeat the same motion, but this time lifting forward to the right. In other words you should be completing a circular motion on the ball.

Summer Shape Up – Tip 1
