Classic Depp
Date : December 20th, 2007I’ve been a Johnny Depp fan for several years now and I’m crazy about many of his movies. I love that he always chooses movies that seem to be made for him, yet are so unique. The same goes for his newest movie Sweeney Tood. This movie comes out on December 21, 2007 and is sure to be a Johnny Depp Classic. You can visit the official Sweeney Todd movie site for more information.
Whenever someone mentions Johnny Depp, for most people the Pirates of the Caribbean movies usually come to mind. For me it’s Edward Scissorhands and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. They are both totally different movies, but they’re both classic Depp.
My introduction to Johnny Depp came with the movie Edward Scissorhands. It’s a fantasy film, but yet it’s something that I can relate to. Edward is such a quirky, yet lovable character. For instance in one scene Esmerelda says to Edward “I can’t believe you sheep have strayed so far from the path of righteousness!” and Edward replies “We’re not sheep!!”. Classic.
Another of my favorite Johnny Depp movies is also directed by Tim Burton. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a movie that people of any age can enjoy. It’s visually stunning and in true Depp fashion, perfectly quirky. A cute scene in the movie is when Willy Wonka asks Mr. Teavee, “If you had to choose only one half of your son, which one would it be?” Mr. Teavee replies “What kind of question is that?” Willy then says “No need to snap. Just a question!”
Although I love many of Depp’s movies, I’m going to have to go with the classic Edward Scissorhands. It doesn’t get better than that. I’m looking forward to seeing Sweeney Todd though. I’m sure that movie will be a classic as well. Don’t forget to visit Sweeney Todd on MySpace to find out more about the movie and make sure to go see Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street when it hits theaters on December 21, 2007!!
