I’ve been giving a lot of thought to furthering my education in the field of nursing. I would like to look into joining some type of online nursing program so that I can work during the day and study at night. Today I found out about the online degree programs that Western Governors University offer and it made me even more interested in following that path. WGU offers online bachelor’s and master’s degree programs for people interested in the fields of teaching, business, information technology and of course, nursing!

All of WGU’s programs are fully accredited. I love that their nursing program is also affordable and flexible. That’s great for people who work during the day and require an online university that works around their schedule. WGU gets major points for offering each student a mentor that can help them throughout their program. That’s great for someone who needs a little motivation and encouragement.

I like the fact that WGU is non-profit online university. Their degree programs are much more affordable than many other online universities and they offer the opportunity to receive partial scholarships every year. I’m going to read more about WGU’s online nursing degree programs to see what each program has to offer. I could really use a vacation right now. My life has been so overwhelming lately. I’m not complaining too much, because it could definitely be a lot worse. I’m grateful that it isn’t. I wish things were a little easier though. But of course that wouldn’t be life, now would it? Today is Thursday so at least it’s almost the end of the week. I’m looking forward to that. I don’t think I’m going to have too great of a weekend though, because I have to work Saturday and Sunday. Grrr. I’m happy I do have a job that I like a lot. After losing my last job because of the recession and a slow down of work availability I’m not complaining about this job for any reason!! But I would like to book one of those orlando vacations for next weekend or something. Just for a little rest!

I was reading this article about the ten most expensive cars ever and it really left a bad taste in my mouth. LOL. I don’t understand why anyone would spend so much money on a car!! I know that doesn’t mean much coming from a “broke” person like me, but I think it’s just dumb to pay for a car what you could pay for a house. I guess it’s just an ego thing or a sign of status. I also think it’s dumb when celebrities buy expensive cars as well since they hardly ever drive them. It makes no sense to me.

The cars on the most expensive list start at around $500,000 and go up to about $2.1 million. Do you know what I would do with that money!!! For $500,000 I could buy a nice house and a car, plus have something left over to pay several months of car insurance. Honestly, even if I was Oprah rich, I would still think paying a million dollars for a car was completely dumb.

It’s really hard not having a full-time job right now. It’s amazing how frequently you find yourself needing money when you don’t have any. When I was a little more financially secure it didn’t seem as if I had as many bills as I have now. I buy a lot less things now than I did before, and I’ve made a lot of concessions in my life, but it seems like I still can’t get ahead. I guess it’s because I’m pretty much living off of my savings. What little I have left. I really hope the job market improves soon because I can’t seem to find any good work. I’ve applied for several jobs but the competition is so steep. I can’t seem to get a leg up.

I’ve been giving a lot of thought to moving, but that’s going to have to wait until I can get a job and save some money. I hope that the economy is a little better whenever I do move. I don’t want to have to go from being stressed over a New Jersey and New York Job Search, to being stressed over a  job search in whatever state I choose to move to. I’d like to be able to move and find a job quickly. I don’t want to be put in this position ever again.
