Examine Your Source

Lately I’ve been thinking about the media and how I have a serious love/hate relationship with it. I hate that the media gets to decide how information is delivered to me. If they like someone or feel that a positive slant on a story is most profitable that’s the spin that you’ll receive. If it’s the opposite, you’ll usually get a negative spin. I hate that. I at least expect the media to be impartial, but nope!

It’s the same thing with celebrities. The media a lot of the time portray this party life as something cool and happening but as soon as a celebrity becomes addicted to drugs and ends up in a drug rehab they’re ready to throw them under the bus. And even with that, certain celebrities get a more positive light shined on them when they enter a alcohol or drug treatment program.

I guess that’s why I try to get my news from different sources and then form my opinions based off of that. You can’t really rely on the news to tell you 100% of the truth. That’s why it’s good to also read and discover things for yourself. At the end of the day you have to keep in mind that the media is driven by financial gain, so you have to always examine your source!

They’re Just Like Us

People seem to have this idea that celebrities are so different from us and they’re usually more judgmental when a celebrity has a drug or alcohol problem as if they shouldn’t because they’re rich and famous. I read so much of stuff on the Internet about celebrities going to drug rehab and there are usually lots of comments that ask why they do drugs if they have a perfect life. I think that’s so ignorant. Celebrities are real people just like us. If anything they have their own set of issues to deal with that probably creates more pressure for them. When it comes to affording a drug rehab and getting treatment  for their addictions, yes they may have it easier, but addiction is addiction. It doesn’t matter who you are.

Celebrity Gossip

I don’t know what it is about most of the people in this world, myself included, but we really love to read celebrity gossip sites. I don’t know why, but it’s just really fun to read about all of the celebrity scandal, rumors and gossip that’s floating around. We as people have a really intense fixation with what’s happening in every celebrity’s life, so I’m know the new site CelebrityGossip.com is going to be really popular. Already, they have some great gossip on their site about George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Nicole Richie, Oprah, and all of the other people you love to hear about. Even though celebritygossip.com follows the standard formula of most gossip sites, it’s really different in that you’re allowed to leave comments on the news stories as well as rate them on a scale of popularity and interest. Well guys, we have a new gossip site to visit daily!

Dressed for a New Year

I was surfing around online today and I came across a lot of pictures of celebrities on New Years Eve. It was really nice to see so many men looking groomed and dressed up. Most of the time when I see men at parties they’re not really looking so dapper. There’s something about New Years Eve that makes men want to put on their best suits and shoes and go out in style. I even saw a few men wearing ties and cufflinks. Personally, I like to be dressed down on New Years Eve, but if I was partying the night away I’d probably dress up to.
