Must Stay Awake!!

It’s not even 8pm yet and I’m thinking about going to sleep. If I go to sleep right now I will be awake again around 2am so I think I’m going to just hang in there for a few more hours. If I can find something fun to do I wont be so bored, but there is nothing going on around here. There’s nothing to watch on TV and nothing to do online. I’ve been planning to start reading this new book that I bought recently but I know reading will only make me fall asleep even sooner.

I wonder what happened to all of the good television shows that used to come on. I remember there was a time when I had to flip a coin to decide which one of a few different shows I would watch. Now I’m lucky if even one good show comes on at night. I’m so tempted to take a nap. But if I do I’ll be up at 2am watching infomercials for vitamins and commercials about social security disability. So yeah, I think I’ll hang in there until at least 11pm.

Online Viewing!

Today has been a pretty boring day. It’s late Saturday night (technically it’s Sunday since it’s 1:30a) and I’m still awake. I took a nap earlier in the day so I’ll probably be up for a while longer. I’m so bored. I really need to find more interesting things to do while I’m online. I was just watching videos a while ago. It’s so amazing to me that you can find almost anything online to watch. Sometimes when I miss my favorite shows I’m not even disappointed because you can watch them online.

I love that a lot of networks offer replays of shows online. They usually wait a few days after the original air date but it’s still pretty convenient. In most cases the view is just as good as it is on television. I love that! I can’t tell you how annoying it is to try to watch a show online only to realize that the sound and picture quality is horrible. Can’t they afford good sound and video cards? LOL I guess beggars can’t be choosers though!

That TV’s In The Way!!

I used to think that having my television sitting on the stand in front of my window was a good idea but I’m not so sure anymore. It’s not a bad spot in terms of convenience, but it’s a horrible spot as far as location goes. I put the television set there when I first moved to this house because it was the best spot in my room to see the television from my bed. However, I don’t think it’s a smart decision to have the television so close to the window during the summer or winter.

When it’s hot outside I often have my windows open and the television blocks the air from coming in. When it’s  cold outside the windows are closed but the heat is on. The heat source happens to be located right under the window. That means the television is in the way of that as well. Let me not even mention what happens when it rains! If I’m not near my room when it starts to rain and the windows are open, forget about it! The television cart gets soaked! That’s why I need to invest in a tv mount. That way the TV can be in a convenient place but out of my way!

Television Upgrade

I’ve been giving a lot of thought these past few months to getting a new television set and I think I’m finally going to do it for the new year. With all of these changes that are going to occur with the digital TV transition in February, it will be a great idea to have a new HD television. I currently have my eyes on a big widescreen flat-panel LCD HDTV. I’ve always wanted one of those because the television that I have now is one of those huge 20 inch tube televisions. Those are so old!

My other reason for wanting a new television is my space limitations. I don’t have as much room as I’m used to and having a bulky television is not going to cut it. A flat-panel television will take up a lot less space than the TV that I have now. I might even be able to get one of those pop up tv stands. I’ve always wanted one of those. I don’t watch television often, so when my TV isn’t in use I can keep it out of sight. I love that!
